Cirque Du Soleil's 38th performance, Luzia, was unveiled a few nights ago at The Royal Albert Hall for the start of their European tour in London and the inaugural London show didn't disappoint. Luzia, which fuses the words light and rain together, easily ups the ante this year in what is an enthralling and captivating showcase of some exceptionally talented artists.

With the colourful culture of Mexico at the heart of the performance, an imaginary world opens up before our eyes. Eric the clown transports us through an old movie set, to an ocean, a cenote, and into the jungle, alongside a spellbinding live musical score. We're taken from traditional Mexico seamlessly into the contemporary and the stage before us is filled with surreal and breathtaking acrobatics, clever surprises and some simply awe-inspiring daring leaps.

Moments into the show we are entranced by 2 Cyr Wheel artists, Angelica Bongiovonni and Rachel Salzman, who take us into a moonlit world set under a giant waterfall. Majo draws us into this enchanting Aztec world with her spellbinding voice, while the audience is mesmerized again by Russian contortionist Aleksei Goloborodko's jaw-dropping flexibility.

If you've not been before, or are a seasoned Cirque fan, this year Luzia will easily take your breath away.

Cirque De Soleil - Luzia is showing at The Royal Albert Hall from 12th January 2020 until 1st March 2020. For further information and to book visit the official website here.
